About the Group

The foundation of the group that is today known as the Jagannath Bajranglal Jaju (JBJ) Group was laid in the early 1940s by Shri Jagannath Jaju (fondly known as "Bade Babu") right after his Matriculation. He was soon joined by his younger brother Shri Bajranglal Jaju (B.L. Ji) while he was still pursuing his C.A. and Law in Kolkata.

The first factory installed by Shri J.N. Jaju was a rice mill in Lalmanihat (present day Bangladesh) in partnership with friends and relatives. The partition saw the mill getting exchanged for a rice mill in Tangla (Assam) and at the same time another rice mill was set up in Pathshala (Assam). The duo then set out on a path of organic growth set across various cities and industries. All along they sought out relatives and friends who were willing to join them on this path. While Shri B.L. Jaju opened his own accounting firm in Calcutta, he was characterized by a spirit of entrepreneurial adventure, brimming with new business ideas. On the other hand Shri J.N. Jaju was the perpetrator of all projects- giving form and function to his younger brother's ideas. Bade Babu's concern for values and ethics was exemplary. The complementing attributes of both brothers took the group from strength to strength.

Rice mills, flourmills, timber factory were all installed in various important cities of Eastern India from 1939 till 1966, from Pathshala and Guwahati to Ranchi and Tatanagar, to name just a few.

As the East was going through political unrest, it was imperative to make a move towards the West: namely Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

The group was a pioneer in setting up Rajasthan's first flourmill, oil refinery and vanaspati plant. The group's interests were also diversified into foreign trade and petrochemicals, consistently reaching greater heights.

1980 saw the division of assets between the JBJ Group and other members of the family. Post restructuring and consolidation the following companies accounted for being the key business drivers for the group:

Neha Leasing & Holdings Ltd
Premier Soya Oil Ltd
Siliguri Flour Mills Ltd

The current key initiatives undertaken by the group are colonization projects in Rajasthan with Ansals as the leading partners. The two schemes Sushant City and Anand Lok have been hugely successful and have given a steady return on investments to plot buyers even in comparison to the boom in the real estate market

The group's business endeavours have been coupled with a consciousness aimed at making a positive impact on society at large. The philanthropic and charitable organizations under the aegis of the group are:
